When are final exam schedules available?

We publish the final exam schedule about a month after the start of the semester.

The list of default final exam times

All classes default into a final exam time based on the class meeting time. Your assigned final exam time may differ from the default.

Not all classes hold final exams. Check your class syllabus to see whether or not there will be a final exam for your class.

Some departments test all students in multiple classes at the same time (“Uniform” or "Departmental" exams). Uniform exam times will differ from the default final exam period.

Contact your instructor or department for specific class information.

Faculty and students should not plan to travel until after the last university final exam day.

Final examinations for classes that begin at days or times not listed above default to the closest standard class beginning time. For example:

• T 3:00 pm–6:00 pm classes default to the same exam time as TTH 3:30 pm–5:00 pm classes.
• TTH 1 pm-2:30 pm classes default to the same exam time as TTH 12:30 pm-2 pm classes.

If the beginning time of the class is exactly halfway between two standard class beginning times, the class defaults to the later time. For example:

• WF 2:30 pm–4:00 pm classes default to the same exam time as MWF 3:00 pm–4:00 pm classes.
• TTH 1:15 pm-2:45 pm classes default to the same exam time as TTH 2:00 pm-3:30 pm classes.

Uniform exams

Some departments test all students in multiple classes at the same time (“Uniform” or "Departmental" exams).

Uniform exam times will differ from the default final exam period, and all uniform exams also hold an official makeup exam. Uniform and makeup exams are published as part of the final exam schedule.
