Residency for tuition purposes can be established in several ways: through high school graduation in Texas, as a dependent individual, as an independent individual or as a military individual.
Residency determinations for tuition are based on guidelines set by the state of Texas and administered by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, via the official Texas Administrative Code rules and regulations.
