Notes/ Action
Items:
Fall 2013 Functional Specifications:
Feedback was requested from the colleges regarding the fall
2013 Functional Specifications. The streamlining of the advanced override and
the ability to expand and close all sections and options of a requirement are
the only items that have yet to be completed. Colleges can expect that these
items will be completed in the next few weeks.
Retention of Audit Results: ITS has requested that Degree Audit store
fewer audit results to reduce file space. Audit results are currently stored in
PROD for 150 days. This period will be reduced to 90 days. Audit results will
be stored for 30 days in both the QUAL and TEST environments. These changes in
retention are effective January 2014.
08-10 Catalog: Undergraduate Studies, the College of
Liberal Arts, and the School of Social Work have gone LIVE with their 08-10
catalog. Colleges that have yet to go LIVE are encouraged to do so as soon as
possible. NRDEGR will be shut down September 2014.
Rollover of 14-16 Catalog: We discussed rolling over
the 14-16 catalog on Friday, January 17, 2014. The colleges were informed of
the need to get the 14-16 catalog coded in preparation for the new class of
freshmen at orientation in June. Audits will be run or students at the end of
orientation to show them their Time-to-Degree and keep them on track to
graduate within 4 years. The Office of the Registrar will send out a list of
all the degree plans currently valid in 12-14 and ask colleges to identify
which ones will not be valid in 14-16. In addition, we will ask them to
identify degree plans that will be added to the 14-16 catalog. The following is
a list of the colleges in attendance at the meeting and their 14-16 coding
status:
- Architecture – Going to have to assess at a
later date; dependent on 14-16 catalog changes. - COLA – Was planning to have 14-16 coded by the
end of the summer. - CNS – Was planning to have 14-16 coded after
June 2014 - Education – Going to have to assess at a later
date; dependent on 14-16 catalog changes. - Pharmacy – No changes in 14-16
- Business – Going to have to assess at a later
date; dependent on 14-16 catalog changes.
Senior List: Mark Long created a report to assist the
colleges in graduating students within 4 years. The report indicates which
requirements graduating seniors (students with >105 hrs.) have yet to
complete. It also outlines which courses can be taken to fulfill these
requirements. This report has not been finalized and is in the process of being
adjusted based on the feedback provided by the colleges. Jen Morgan indicated that this report would be
more useful if it produced a comprehensive list of lacking requirements instead
of a list of courses that could be taken to fulfill lacking requirements. She
also stated that UGS would like to get a list of the core requirements remaining
for these graduating seniors across the
university.
Usability: The aggregated usability list was passed
out to the colleges. This list contained usability items that have yet to be completed.
The colleges were asked to prioritize their top 5 items. Some of these items
may be considered in spring 2014
Action Item #1: Rank
usability items and return them to us by next Friday, January 24, 2014.
Next Steps
