Notes/ Action
Items:
Flags: There
has been an increase in the number of in-residence flag petitions. In the 08-10
and 10-12 catalogs, in-residence courses with a writing flag were approved by
UGS, but not all of these courses were added by the colleges to the flag
requirements . UGS is asking colleges to check their course lists in the 08-10
and 10-12 catalogs to make sure the approved UGS flag courses are there. UGS
will also send out a link to the colleges of UGS flag course lists that need to
be added..
Pull-Down Menu: In IDA 2.0, some of the Liberal Arts degree
plan options are incorrect on the pull-down menu and some of the options for
minors are not displaying. The Office of the Registrar is aware of this issue
and will address it accordingly. The temporary fix is to use the multiple EIDS
on the audit request page.
Science and Technology:
Bio 309D/F Courses: When UGS coded the 12-14 Science and Technology
requirement, they created an option list for the BIO courses with a restriction
and exception list for BIO 309D/F. The way this was coded created an issue for
the branched part of the requirement, and the Bio 309D/F courses were being
picked up in the audit. The Office of the Registrar created a course list for
part I combining all the bio courses that have a core code. In part II, all the
courses for part I and II were combined, and all sections must use different
course lists. Although this resolved the issue for UGS, it doesn’t change
anything for the colleges or require any resequencing.
08-10 Catalog:
Colleges need to let the Office of the Registrar know what their plans are
for going live with the 08-10 catalog. Moving forward, the Office of the
Registrar will require your timeline for going live in writing for the
following:
1)
When will coding the 08-10 catalog be completed?
2)
Expected time needed to test all coded requirements?
3)
When will you request overrides to be mapped?( UGS will continue to do
overrides in both systems until all colleges are live.)
4)
When do you plan to go live and check the “Go Live” checklist?
Some colleges would prefer to
graduate students in the old system, but NRDEGR will only be open until
September 30, 2014.
Sunsetting NRDEGR: NRDEGR will be shut down September 30,
2014 as we move to a single system.
When NRDEGR shuts down:
Any audits run in NRDEGR or IDA 1.0 will be visible, but
advisers will no longer be able to run audits.
Profiles will still be created in NRDEGR and remain active
in NRDEGR.
Topic titles will still be maintained in the old system.
The TM and XM commands will be available in NRDEGR. However,
not all of the PM commands will be available.
Action Item 1:
Let us know which PM commands you use frequently and which should remain. Provide
feedback by Wednesday, November 20, 2013.
Before NRDEGR shuts down, colleges will need to think about
whether or not they plan to code all degree plans in the 08-10 catalog. Degree
plans not coded will be removed from the student view of the pull-down menu.
Advisers should not run degree plans for the 08-10 catalog that were not coded.
Certified audits will remain based on the records retention,
which is one year after graduation.
PTD/TTD:
The Office of the Registrar met with the colleges to discuss and get feedback
on the new PTD/TTD formula. In general, colleges feel the new formula is more
accurate.
Have colleges talked to the advisers and students about the
new formula? Do colleges feel that the formula can work better?
The Office of the Registrar asks colleges to endorse the new
PTD/TTD calculation. We need your endorsement or else we need to make it
better. If colleges do not endorse the new formula, please let us know why and
how we can make it better.
Sequence
Migrations: When requesting a
sequence migration, colleges must keep in mind that migrating at the college
level will migrate anything at that level and below. Requesting a sequence
migration at the department level will migrate at that level and below, which
includes specific tracks, honors, minors, or concentrations.
Updates in Prod:
- Fixed the bug with grade "Z" not displaying
in future term courses on audit results page. - Corrected the logic that was causing planned courses to
