Notes/Actions Items:
Fall 2013 Functional Specifications: We discussed the functional specifications
for the fall 2013 semester and requested feedback from the colleges regarding
our plans. We will be sending out a plan
with regards to sunsetting NRDEGR and requesting a timeline from the colleges
for the coding of the 08-10 catalog.
Action Item #1: Provide
feedback on the fall 2013 functional specifications by Friday September 13,
2013.
Totals Section on Audit Results: Totals requirements
have been compiled and placed in a separate section on the audit results in
QUAL per a usability request from the colleges. We discussed this change and
asked the colleges for their feedback concerning this change. Additionally, we discussed how this change
should be reflected in the printed population audits. We determined that only the general education
totals should be separated out, with the GPA requirement being the first
listed. The printed audits should also reflect these changes, with the Totals
section appearing after the minor but before “Courses/Hours not used in
specific degree requirements.”
Time to Degree: The new Time to Degree algorithm was
moved to PROD on August 30th.
The users had requested that the algorithm address situations where a
student may be lacking more in-residence hours than course-seeking requirements
hours. This new formula takes that factor into consideration. However, the algorithm was not adjusted to
account for the double-dipping caused by curriculum flag hours. We discussed
the impact double-dipping has on incoming freshmen audits. The users specified
that they are concerned with the way the algorithm handles double-dipping. A potential solution discussed involved the
creation of an “omit this requirement” button in the requirement metadata that
colleges could choose to use for requirements they knew to double-dip. The
colleges requested that a comment be added to the audit results screen
explaining how double-dipping affects student TTD percentages.
Rollover of 14-16 Catalog: It was determined that the
14-16 catalog would be rolled over sometime after January, with particular
concern paid to colleges that are still adjusting their 12-14 catalog
requirements.
Adviser Information Updates: Catherine passed out
adviser information update sheets to the colleges and electronically sent out
versions to colleges who were not present.
Action Item #2: Look
over these information sheets and email updates by Tuesday, September 17, 2013.
We will push Delisa’s agenda item to the meeting in October.
She wanted to discuss the IDA 2.0 pull-down menu.
