Announcements
Certified staggered audit run dates: Certified audits will run starting Monday, May 9th, through Friday, May 20th. If you did not provide the Office of the Registrar with updates to your certified audit preferences, then your preferences from the previous semester will be used.
May 25th: deadline for entries on the VO screen, including honors codes.
May 26th: each college to receive and review their certified list.
May 27th (noon): certified list for each college due to the Office of the Registrar.
May 27th (after 5PM): degrees are posted and available.
Changes to independent restrictions in IDA 2.0: A new independent restriction for a new course (EDC X51S) will be added to IDA 2.0 for all active catalogs after the spring certified audits have been run.
Starting in the 16-18 catalog, one restriction will cap the allowable number of fieldwork/internship of certain KIN, HED, and related courses. Related but obsolete restrictions will be removed from 16-18. This will occur after certified audits have run.
Discussion
Minor lab meetings for summer: Some colleges expressed concern that scheduling labs on Wednesdays and Thursdays during the summer will cut into orientation times. Registrar staff will continue to assess. Old certificate programs may appear by the end of May; all new minors and certificates will appear in our systems as early as June/July.
Profile updates: Registrar staff confirmed that user ID should be retained on the profiles page whenever the user ID makes an update to a profile.
SAB courses counting in the audit: COLA raised a point about the way their advisors were interpreting the applicability of ungraded SAB coursework. Currently, ungraded SAB coursework is subtracted from the total hours needed for the degree, which typically provides a boost to PTD. Including all SAB courses without grades in the PTD percentage reflected the direction the university wanted to move in fall 2014 when this change was made. This has not changed.
Administrative suite for minors: A suite is being developed for administration of minors and certificates. This suite will allow for adding late certificates, changing the effective CCYYS of approved minors and certificates, and expiring minors and certificates.
Going live for 16-18: The McCombs School of Business plans to be ready to migrate their 16-18 requirements to live at the end of May.
IDA 2.0 changes moved to PROD: Several changes were moved to PROD to address known issues and add new functionality.
Changes include:
- Web replacement for PX screen reports
- Fully removed option to waive minor trigger requirements
- Standalone certificates can now be submitted on the multiple EID page through either the “degree plan” or “minor/certificate” fields, absent any other credentials;
- Fully removed option to trump a minor trigger requirement with a hidden empty requirement;
- “Effective CCYYS,” “Approved” and “Pursued” columns added to the profiles page
- Grad Business re-added to pull-down menu
- Added whitespace around “Minor/Certificate Application” link in navbar to help it stand out more as a single link
- Corrected handling of degree plan codes on profiles page to prevent additional blanks in form
