Notes/ Action
Items:
Summer Orientation
Audits for the 14-16 Catalog: Concerns were raised about summer
orientation audits being run under the 14-16 catalog when some of the new degree
programs are still waiting on approval. Colleges can still code and go live
with existing programs until the new degree programs are approved.
Audits for freshmen summer orientation will automatically
run under the 12-14 catalog for colleges that are not live with the 14-16
catalog. Colleges can also run their own population audits for the 14-16
catalog in Prod Setup if there are differences between the two catalogs.
New degree programs will not be added to the pull-down menu
until colleges are ready to go live. Until the new programs are added to the pull-down menu, run test audits by selecting
“Multiple EIDs” option on the audit
request page.
Action Item 1: Let
us know which degree programs need to be removed for the 14-16 catalog by Friday,
May 16, 2014.

Go Live dates with
the 08-10 Catalog: The projected dates for colleges that will be ready
to go live with the 08-10 catalog are as follows:
Architecture: Summer 2014
Business: May 27, 2014
Engineering: Summer 2014
Fine Arts: After summer certification
Natural Sciences: After spring certification
Foreign Language
Requirement: The Office of
Admissions now requires transfer students to submit their high school
transcripts to determine if they are deficient in a foreign language. Students
who are deficient in foreign language will have to make up the deficiency
before enrolling at the University of Texas and will be treated the same as
incoming freshmen. Any student matriculating at UT should not have a foreign
language deficiency on record.
24/30 Rule:
There’s been a proposal to change
the twenty-four of the last thirty semester hours rule in the 14-16 catalog. The
proposal still has to be voted on a no-protest basis, and depending on when and
if it is passed, may not go into effect in the 14-16 undergraduate catalog.
NRDEGR Screens:
The Office of the Registrar will provide the colleges a list of which
screens will still be available once NRDEGR is sunsetted.
NRRECS/ST Screen:
Colleges can use the ST screen in
NRRECS to view core codes for transfer courses. A new column with W/Cor has
been added. If you place the cursor over the “*” and press enter, the core code
displays.
Running Audits
Under the 06-08 Catalog: Before sunsetting NRDEGR, colleges may wish to
run audits for current students using the 06-08 catalog so they can have
documentation of the overrides performed. The Office of the Registrar can
provide colleges a list of profiles under the 06-08 catalog for students who
have not graduated. If needed, the Office of the Registrar can assist with
running the audits.
Action Item 2: Let
us know after summer graduation if we need to provide a list of profiles under
the 06-08 catalog.
