UT Course Schedule, Summer 1996 Registration Procedure Summaries

The information on this page summarizes procedures for registration, add/drop, and fee payment. If, after reading the detailed information printed in this Course Schedule, you have questions concerning any procedure, call the TEX helpline, (512) 475-7656.

You are strongly advised to register and add/drop during your earliest access period to obtain the best selection of classes and to ensure access to TEX. Students who wait until the access periods immediately before the beginning of the semester should understand that they risk not being able to register before classes begin and having to pay a late registration fee. You must clear all bars--advising, financial, and nonfinancial--to be able to access TEX.

Registration and Payment Procedure

  1. Pick up your Registration Information Sheet (RIS).
  2. See your academic adviser, if required or desired. (See your RIS or "Academic Advising.")
If advising is required, you will not be able to access TEX until your major department has cleared your advising bar. Advising is offered during specified periods only; contact your major department for advising schedules.
  3. Clear your financial and nonfinancial bars, if any. (See "Details," step 3.)
  4. Complete a Registration Worksheet.
  5. Determine your access period and access time.
  6. Call TEX, (512) 475-9800, using a touch-tone telephone and use the appropriate transaction codes to register.
  7. Pay your registration fee bill in full. Failure to pay your fee bill will result in cancellation of your registration. If your fees are zero, see "Methods of Payment."
