Undergraduates may not enroll in any computer sciences course more than once without written permission of a departmental adviser. No student may enroll in any computer sciences course more than two times. No student may take more than three upper-division computer sciences courses in a semester without the written consent of an undergraduate adviser in computer sciences.
Students who plan to major in computer sciences should take C S 307. The prerequisite for C S 307 is one of the following: one year of programming in high school, C S 303E or 304P with a grade of at least C, or consent of instructor; and M 305G with a grade of at least C, a score of at least 560 on the SAT II Subject Test in Mathematics Level I or IC (or a score of at least 540 if the student took the test before April 1, 1995), or a score of at least 530 on the SAT II Subject Test in Mathematics Level IIC (or a score of at least 560 if the student took the test before April 1, 1995).
CORE REQUIREMENT. To enroll in any computer sciences course numbered above 336, except 349, all students must have completed the following courses with a grade of at least C in each: C S 310, 315 or 315H, 336 or 336H, M 408D, and PHL 313K.
Final instructor assignments will be posted outside the departmental office and will supersede instructors listed in this Course Schedule.
