UT Course Schedule, Fall Semester 1999 REGISTRATION PROCEDURE SUMMARIES

Students may choose to register via the World Wide Web (ROSE) or by telephone (TEX). The access periods and schedules outlined below and on the following pages will be in effect for either method of registration. For registration on the web, go to http://www.utexas.edu/student/registrar/registration/. For registration by telephone, call TEX, (512) 475-9800, using a touch-tone phone.

The information on this page summarizes procedures for registration, add/drop, and fee payment. If, after reading the detailed information in this Course Schedule, you have questions concerning any procedure, call the helpline, (512) 475-7656.

You are strongly advised to register and add/drop during your earliest access period to obtain the best selection of classes and ensure access to the registration system. If you wait until the access periods immediately before the beginning of the semester you risk not being able to register before classes begin and having to pay a late registration fee. You must clear all bars -- advising, financial, and nonfinancial -- to be able to access the registration system.

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT PROCEDURE

  1. Pick up your Registration Information Sheet (RIS).
  2. See your academic adviser, if required or desired. (See your RIS or "Academic Advising.")
If advising is required, you will not be able to access the registration system until your major department has cleared your advising bar. Advising is offered during specified periods only; contact your major department for advising schedules.
  3. Clear your financial and nonfinancial bars, if any. (See "Details," step 3.)
  4. Complete a Registration Worksheet.
  5. Determine your access period and access time.
  6. Call TEX, (512) 475-9800, using a touch-tone telephone or go to http://www.utexas.edu/student/registrar/registration/.
  7. Pay your registration fee bill in full or according to installment plan instructions. Failure to pay your fee bill will result in cancellation of your registration. If your fees are zero, or you are eligible to charge your fee bill to financial aid see "Methods of Payment."
