Official grade reports

When you're enrolled, we can print and mail you this semester's official grade report if you order it before the end of finals.

Grade reports are also mailed to students who have been awarded University Honors or whose scholastic status has changed. The Office of the Registrar does not issue official grade reports to students in the School of Law.

Replacement grade reports are not available.

The grade report provides the following:

  • the grade assigned for each course in which a student was enrolled or earned credit by examination,
  • semester hours of credit earned in the current semester,
  • semester credit hours earned in all UT Austin coursework,
  • current-semester grade point average,
  • cumulative UT Austin grade point average,
  • the total number of credit hours transferred from other institutions, and
  • scholastic status and University Honors.

Errors in grade reports

If a student believes there is an error in the report of a grade, he or she must contact the instructor of the course. If appropriate, the instructor will submit a grade change request to the dean of the college or school in which the student was enrolled when the course was taken. If the grade change is approved, the Office of the Registrar will correct the student's record and notify the student of the new grade and of his or her new grade point average.

Scholastic probation and dismissal

A student must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average to remain academically eligible to register for the next semester or summer session. The grade point average required of undergraduates varies according to the amount of college-level credit they have earned. Students should direct questions about scholastic status to their deans' offices.

Rules on scholastic probation and dismissal apply to all undergraduates. Complete rules about undergrad probation and dismissal are given in General Information. See the Graduate Catalog for rules about graduate warning and dismissal.

University Honors

Each fall and spring semester, undergraduates who complete a full course load and earn outstanding grades are recognized by inclusion on the University Honors list. Students are notified on the grade report of their inclusion on the list. See General Information for information about University Honors.
