2. "Early nonresidents" are out-of-state and international students who were enrolled at the University in the spring semester 2004 or earlier. "Intermediate nonresidents" are those enrolled for the first time after spring 2004 but before summer 2006. "New nonresidents" are those enrolled for the first time in summer 2006 or later.

7a. These eligibility requirements were changed by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board on January 15, 2008. A veteran is no longer required to have been a United States citizen at the time he or she entered the service.
8. Beginning with the spring semester 2008, this exemption is also available to the children of members of the United States Armed Forces who were United States citizens and Texas residents when they entered the service and who became totally disabled for purposes of employability according to the disability ratings of the Department of Veterans Affairs as a result of a service-related injury received in any of these conflicts.
9. Beginning with the spring semester 2008, this exemption is also available to the children of members of the Texas National Guard or the Texas Air National Guard who are totally disabled for purposes of employability according to the disability ratings of the Department of Veterans Affairs, regardless of whether the members are eligible to receive disability benefits from the department, as a result of a service-related injury suffered since January 1, 1946, while on active duty in the service either of Texas or of the United States.
10. Fall: September 1, 2007–January 3, 2008; spring: January 3–May 13, 2008; summer: May 1–August 31, 2008.
11. Primary facilities are Gregory Gymnasium and the Recreational Sports Center. Satellite facilities are Anna Hiss Gymnasium, Bellmont Hall, and Pickle Research Campus. Lockers are optional.
12. Senior children, age 16 to 22, may use informal recreation facilities without adult supervision.
13. Children 15 and under must have adult supervision at all times; certain restrictions apply.
14. Provides access to facilities at the Pickle Research Campus only. Employees or spouses who wish to use facilities on the main campus must pay the applicable fees.
15. Consultants, lecturers, or others with a clearly defined connection with a University agency or program on a short-term basis. Additional information is available from the Division of Recreational Sports.
