Notes to Chapter 2

1. These requirements were established by House Bill 3826, approved by the 80th Legislature, Regular Session. HB 3826 modified Texas Education Code section 51.803, sometimes called the top 10 percent law. Final rules governing implementation of these new requirements are pending. 3. A proposal has recently been approved to allow plus/minus grading for undergraduate courses completed at the University. When that change is implemented, the Office of Admissions will begin including pluses and minuses awarded by the original school when the applicant's transfer GPA is computed.

4. Graduates of foreign institutions may be required to have a minimum score on an English-language-proficiency test such as the TOEFL or the IELTS.
