Catalog Production
Official Publications publishes the University’s catalogs.
- the Undergraduate Catalog is published in August of even-numbered years
- the Graduate Catalog is published in August of odd-numbered years
- the Law School Catalog is published in February of even-numbered years
- General Information is published each August
In general, new catalogs are created by modifying the previous catalog. Catalog original copy, which is an exact duplicate of the information published in the previous catalog, is made available by Official Publications to the academic units at least six months before the deadline (which is usually November 1 of the year before the catalog will be published). The academic units should then make modifications, most of which require approval from a variety of administrators. Once the catalog copy has been returned, Official Publications reviews all the modifications, verifies that all necessary approvals have been acquired, and publishes the catalog.
Course inventory changes should also be submitted by the deadline (November 1 for the following academic year) in order to be included in the catalog.

All current catalogs and some older catalogs (beginning with 1994) are available online. The online catalogs are exact duplicates of the printed books, and except for minor corrections are not changed once they are published.
Official Publications can provide official catalog course descriptions for former and current students who require them for graduate school applications, certain kinds of licensure, and for other reasons.
